• I looked at Tony’s Chocolate and their aims to create 100% slave- free chocolate. The aim of my design concept was to show each process of chocolate that farmers are involved in (where Tony’s Chocolonely is trying to change) and then reveal the brand at the end. This was visualised to be one brand of four that would appear under a theme of ‘Brands That Give Back’.

ReAir

·       ReAir is a fortnight long series of installation design concepts that would appear around Birmingham to raise awareness and promote easy solutions  to ‘cleaning the air’, one of five environmental aims the Earthshot Prize outlines. This was a promenade performance where the audience could travel as part of the performance or individually to see each installation. The series of installations told the story of the ‘Guardian of the Air’ (inspired by the Floozie in the Jacuzzi). Installations would appear at key sites like the Fort Dunlop site, Birmingham City Hospital and New Street Station, ending with a puppet parade from the Station to Victoria Square, all followed by a downloadable app.

·       I used a multitude of skills to show my designs in this project. For instance, a 1:25 scale model of the lung installation at Birmingham City Hospital, a photoshopped storyboard for the projection at Lickey Hills and a sketchup model of the conveyor belt exhibition at the Fort Dunlop site.

     Einstein’s Dreams Escape Room

·       Based on the book, Einstein’s Dreams, I created an escape room design concept that would appear at Alton Towers. The escape room puzzles focussed on the chapters of the book, players would ultimately aim to turn each clock on the wall to a certain time to escape the room, ultimately escaping the freezing of time referring to lockdown during the Pandemic. There was a main room that looked like a usual open kitchen/living room area and 5 other rooms representing each sense.

·       As this escape room would be more advanced than a typical room, I felt having it at Alton Towers would suit that audience. Alton Towers also has themes of Speed, Magic and Horror and I thought the theme of Frozen in Time tied in well.

   The Leader

·       Located at the Midlands Art Centre, Birmingham, and based on the play ‘The Leader’ I produced a detailed modelbox of the set design. It was set where the audience would sit amongst the actors in a therapy session setting. Use of shadows on the cloth surrounding the space would convey the story. I made small, detailed furniture and props for the modelbox, representing where the audience can get a drink, making the ‘therapy session’ believable.

Themed Environment and Experiential Designer

I am a multidisciplinary designer with great interest in designing space for different themed environments and events. I have a vast number of different skills, technical and personal, that allow me to adapt to and use my knowledge to approach new briefs. Using all senses in a design is something I have focused on and researched a lot. It is also important for me to make each design as accessible as possible for everyone.

I have a passion for creating spaces that reflect a bigger current social, cultural or environmental message and want to shape design in a way that it can be admired for its appearance as well as giving the audience a wider view or statement about the current world. I look forward to gaining experience and working with other creatives on a range of different types of projects.
