In the Spirit of Play is a playscape that I designed and built for festivals with a focus on building sustainably. My aim was to provide an opportunity for adults to reconnect with their most playful self.
This spinning net is used to throw pinecones into, I chose to use pinecones as they are easily replaceable when lost, biodegradable and free.

A periscope is fixed on the inside of the spinner with the view of the outside allowing you to see if the people playing outside are scoring any pinecones in the net. Connecting the two spaces.

Inspired by the famous children’s book Stig of the Dump by Clive King, I wanted to use items that are often discarded into a forest to construct something with narrative that was subjective to personal interpretation.

This installation was my part in a Land art exhibition set in the Hermannshof Forest, Germany. I wanted to create a magical space for the people to escape to into a world of mystery, adventure and nostalgia.
Fridgeless was an installation exploring our childhoods relationship with nature and letting the imagination run wild in the wild.

Multi-disciplinary Artist
Multi-disciplinary artist interested in designing and making immersive environments, interactive sculptures, giant puppets, props and playscapes.
Over the last 5 years I have enjoyed working with festivals including Bestival, Moovin, Tropical Pressure and Aespia to produce decorations and immersive installations. Throughout my degree I developed an interest in the benefits of play for adults and how to use design to encourage adults to break out of social norms. Inspired by people and characters, I have gained a passion for puppetry that has re-shaped my understanding of the human body and its relationship to objects and movement. Given the opportunity, I would like to continue to develop this in the future.
